UX design for Hiiyou
The client wished for an app that could show people the list of food trucks (company’s partners) and when and where in town they could be found if people wanted some authentic street food. As well, to be able to book a desired food truck for catering for private events.
UX design / Wireframes / Critical thinking
/// You can read more about the case below:
For differentiating app’s users, the login system has two options: for regular users and food trucks. When a food truck owner logs in, he/she could check-in time and address, where the food truck will be standing for the day and serving food. This way an icon would pop-up on the map and will remain until the check-out. For this to work, it is very important to collaborate with the food truck owners, create a value proposition and convince them to engage with the app and show how will they benefit from mutual sponsoring.
As for the second function - booking a food truck - it was impossible to guarantee a confirmation of a booking’s immediate success due to independency of food trucks' businesses and unforeseeable availability and is required a person-to-person communication and an unpredictable amount of time.
Conclusion: Basing on research and applying critical thinking, I recommended the client to reconsider if such app is going to reach the target group and meet the company goals.
The project was put on hold and agreed to be later further brainstormed looking for more innovative ways to promote street food passion to the public.
